This mini-workshop is aimed at gathering a few experts from different fields (mostly theoretical cosmology, galactic dynamics, [astro]particle physics) to discuss current progress, issues, and prospects in the understanding of dark matter (DM). The focus is mostly on how different DM scenarios imprint galactic and subgalactic scales, and how these can in turn be used to discriminate among several classes of DM candidates. This is directly linked to the small-scale tensions the LCDM paradigm is currently facing, which could be related either to baryonic physics, specific dark matter properties, or both.
Participation is on invitation, and the philosophy may be summarized as: interactive, friendly, unveil the dust under carpets, share knowledge or ideas, trigger collaborative work. This is the seventh edition of this workshop series (previous editions: 2013, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021).
The 2022 meeting will take place at the historical building of the Faculty of Medicine of Montpellier. This edition will focus on dark matter subhalos, from formation, through evolution in their hosts, up to searches or impact on dark matter searches. Although the workshop is usually theory or phenomenology oriented, observational status and prospects will be addressed.
This meeting is partly supported by the LUPM, the CNRS-INSU National Program PNHE, the ANR under contract ANR-18-CE31-0006 (the GaDaMa project), and by the ERC project GREATDIGINTHESKY.
Scientific organizers: Benoit Famaey, Julien Lavalle.
Local organizer: Julien Lavalle.
Logistical support: Amel Chennouf.
Practical details below (including on the social dinner at the bottom).
PRACTICAL INFORMATION:
When you arrive in Montpellier, note that the tram lines are highly disorganized at the moment, due to some work being done on the rails at the main hub around the central railway station. Those of you coming from the airport will not be affected as the Line 1 is rerouted to avoid the construction site. If you come by train, you will have to walk a bit from the station to Comédie (5 minutes walk) to pick up a tram. You can also perfectly walk to your hôtel if you feel like it (approx. 20 minutes walk through the medieval city center, called the "écusson").
Itineraries and timetables for transport can be found here:

SOCIAL DINNER:
The dinner will take place at restaurant Le Bastidon, located in Carnon near the beach, at 20:00 on Thursday. From the workshop venue, the best is to take the tram (~1h15 from door to door). Take line 1 from station "Place Albert 1er" toward Odysseum until station "Moularès". Then take line 3 toward Pérols, until station "Pérols - étang de l'or". Finally, it is a 20 min walk to the restaurant (port of Carnon). A weblink is available here (please be careful, because although the position on the map in correct, there is a mistake in the written address - the restaurant is really located in Carnon-Plage, not in Mauguio). Return trams are leaving at 22:05, 23:05, 00:05, sharp.
