Description

The symposium will cover the current landscape and vision for the future development of neutrino physics, with fundamental impacts in particle physics, astrophysics, cosmology and nuclear physics. Placing right at the intersection of the intensity frontier, the sensitivity frontier and the energy frontier, the important role neutrinos play in the modern physics is obvious. The symposium is an effort to bring together scientists and promote multinational collaborations working on these frontiers, especially in Asia region.  To understand the nature of neutrinos, the mega-watt accelerator machines (JPARC, CERN, Fermilab, etc..) are being realized along with the mega-watt reactors to provide the high-intense sources of neutrinos. This intensity frontier happens along with the growing of the sensitivity frontier in which the enormous detector systems (DUNE, Hyper-Kamiokande, JUNO, etc..) are being built. The precision measurements of neutrino properties demand the higher detector sensitivity, more precise understanding of neutrino source and better knowledge of the neutrino-nucleus interactions over wide range of neutrino energies from sub MeV to GeV. Neutrino physics is also at the high energy frontier where the recent observations of very high energy (~PeV) astronomical neutrinos capture a lot of interests. Next-generation neutrino telescopes are in the process of design and construction for observing the highest energy neutrinos from the astrophysical sources. Neutrinos could also interconnect to the dark matter of the Universe. Understanding neutrinos, thus, helps to push the dark matter search forward.  The “renaissance” period of neutrino physics has been started and multinational collaborations are desired to advance these frontiers further.
