Guided tour of Lyon: Travel through time, styles and eras ... From Lugdunum to Lyon, 2000 years are watching you!

A guided tour of the old town of Lyon is scheduled on Tuesday June 12, 2018, from 6:30 PM to 8:30 PM. This tour is free but registration is mandatory.

The esplanade of Fourvière offers a magnificent uninterrupted view of Lyon.

The discovery of the basilica, one of the symbols of the city, immerses you in the late 19th century. Don’t walk by without taking a look inside, because the interior is just as remarkable as the outside.

The tour brings you from the Basilica to the Gallo-Roman site where there is a great view of the entire Peninsula. Do not forget that Lugdunum was founded on the hill of Fourvière in 43 BC.

Your walk then takes you down towards Old Lyon. At the bottom of the hill, the Renaissance town stretches out along the banks of the river Saône. Walk through a few of the narrow streets and the squares and delve into the "traboules" to discover hidden courtyards, galleries and wells...

Conference Dinner

The conference dinner is scheduled on Thursday June 14, 2018 at 7:00 PM at the restaurant Le Caro de Lyon, located downtown Lyon at 25, rue du Bât d'Argent 69001 Lyon. See the map.

The restaurant is a 30' walking distance from the venue (along the Rhône banks). The closest metro stations to the restaurant are named Cordeliers and Hôtel de Ville (Line A - red).

One of the "must-see" places in the heart of Lyon's Peninsula, next to the Town hall, the Opera and the former Stock Exchange, LE CARO DE LYON retains the authenticity of a historical place for gourmets. The restaurant is now used to greeting business and arts leading figures finding here conviviality, privacy and late dining, unusual things now in the city centre.

From the marvellous library to the astonishing glass roof, from the cosy space upstairs to the amazing covered terrace, everything in that unique and traditional place reinterpreted by the architect Pierre Chaduc brings us in times where chic and well-eating were in harmony.

You will enjoy with a great pleasure the cuisine of the twice finalist of world championship of "pâté-coûte" and Toque Blanche Lyonnaise Chef Yannick Decelle. You will surprise yourself discovering or rediscovering regional savour here and there revisited. You will let yourself go to the idleness in the comfortable leather armchairs of the terrace. You will discuss, share, and drool over the idea of coming back delighting the new dishes or simply plunging back into the enchanting atmosphere.
