From neutrino to multimessenger astronomy : status and perspectives

Description

The recent results obtained in the field of gamma astronomy, in particular the observations of the Fermi satellite, highlight the large variety and strong variability of astrophysical sources in the high energy Universe.
With the completion of the ANTARES and IceCube neutrino telescopes and the finalisation of the design of the KM3NeT telescope in the Mediterranean Sea, we are at the dawn of opening the neutrino window on the Universe.
It  therefore seems appropriate to review our experimental and theoretical knowledge of high energy astrophysical sources and revisit the discovery potential of neutrino astronomy, as well as the strategies for multi-messenger observation and analyses.
We therefore propose to organise a two day workshop gathering together the French astroparticle community (theoreticians, phenomenologists, experimentalists) working in this field to discuss these issues.
