On Monday July 3rd, a welcome reception will be held at the "Pavillon Lecoq" at the heart of the town's central garden ("Jardin Lecoq"), from 19h30 onwards. The gardens are just a few minute walk away from the Conference venue.
Wednesday's afternoon (July 5th) is free. We invite you to join one of three proposed excursions, before we all come together for the Conference dinner. You can join:
- "History & flavours" - tour of local historical churches in the countryside (Chaine de Puys), including the XIIth century basilica at Orcival and the church of St. Nectaire, also dating from the XIIth century. Discover local auvergne cheeses, including the iconic "St. Nectaire", among others.
- Historical Clermont-Ferrand" - (guided) two-hour walking tour to discover the historical centre of Clermont.
- "Volcan de Lemptegy" - visit to an open-air volcano, exploring it from a unique point of view.
After the tours, all participants will be invited to travel by bus to the "Plateau de Gergovie", a high plateau close to Clermont, rich in history and offering unique views of the region.
The Conference dinner will be held at the "Hutte Galoise". If the weather holds, an astronomical observation will be organised.
