An EIC software tutorial will take place on Tuesday July 23
from 4 PM to 6 PM in room Chaudron
The EICUG Software Working Group (ESWG) is developing physics and detector simulations for the EIC that are accessible to the EICUG as a whole. The ESWG has adapted JupyterLab as a collaborative workspace and will provide at the EICUG Meeting a tutorial on running fast simulations in a JupyterLab environment. The fast simulations will be based on eic-smear, an application that has been used for the EIC White Paper and will allow to answer questions such as “Given a (known) detector performance, how well can I measure some physics observable(s)?” or “If I need to measure X with to some precision, what detector performance do I need?
Instructions for the tutorial will be available on Monday on the ESWG website: https://eic.gitlab.io/documents/quickstart/
At the end of the tutorial and in the ESWG report Wednesday, the strategy for fast and full simulations will be shared.
