Description

Research dedicated to the Belle II detector operation at the SuperKEKB collider is currently conducted in France at IPHC (Strasbourg) and LAL (Orsay) in the framework of projects supported by the FJPPL Toshiko Yuasa Associated International Laboratory, in collaboration with KEK physicists working on the Belle II experiment and the SuperKEKB collider. Two different aspects are addressed in these projects, on one hand the study of the background induced by SuperKEKB colliding beams, in particular in the inner tracker volume, and on the other hand the fast luminosity monitoring with on-line feedback to tune the beam parameters for luminosity maximization.

In that context, besides presenting status reports on these FJPPL collaborative projects, this meeting will be mainly dedicated to fine tuning the proposed French contributions to the study of the background produced by the SuperKEKB colliding beams, which will be performed during the commissioning of the Belle II experiment (BEAST). Experts of Belle II, SuperKEKB, BEAST and the Belle II pixel detector are invited to participate, directly or via videoconference.

Information to access IPHC can be found here.

The meeting takes place in building 25, room Mondrian, see the Campus Map. Entry to the campus can be done near the bus G stop from the "rue Becquerel" entry (if open) or from the "rue du Loess" main entry.
