Welcome Words from the Local Organizing Committee Chairs
Dear colleagues,
It is with great pleasure that we welcome you to EPS-HEP 2025, here in Marseille!
After many months of preparation, we are thrilled to finally open the doors to what promises to be an exciting and inspiring week of physics. With 800 participants from all over the world, EPS-HEP 2025 brings together a vibrant and diverse community to share the latest developments in particle physics and explore the future of our field.
Over the next five days, we hope you’ll enjoy not only the rich scientific program, but also the opportunity to connect with colleagues, meet new collaborators, and experience the unique setting of Marseille—its history, its light, and its energy.
As the Local Organizing Committee, we are committed to making your stay as smooth and enjoyable as possible. You’ll find information and updates throughout the week in this daily newsletter, and our team is always available to assist you on site.
We wish you a wonderful conference!

Local scientific (fun)-fact
The second Fabry–Perot interferometer ever built around 1900 (the first one was destroyed during the American bombardment of Marseille in 1944) is stored in the Faculty of Sciences, close to the Saint-Charles train station. Charles Fabry and Alfred Perot were both Professors at the University of Marseille. This interferometer was used by Charles Fabry to discover the ozone layer.
This type of interferometers is used in astronomy and Fabry-Pérot cavities are used in gravitational waves detectors such as LIGO and VIRGO.
