MAC IN2P3 master project in-person meeting
A201
IJCLab, Bât. 100A
First in-person meeting of the MAC (Modélisation des astres compacts / Compact Stars Modeling) project, a master project (MP) of IN2P3.
This theoretical collaboration builds on the MP MAC (2017–2019) and NewMAC (2020–2022). The goal is to improve theoretical models derived from nuclear physics, allowing for a more precise understanding of compact stars and multi-messenger signals detected on Earth. The objects of study are neutron stars, hybrid stars, and quarks, as well as high-energy phenomena such as massive star core collapse and compact star coalescence. The emphasis is on how improved and microphysics-informed modelling of nuclear matter properties can be used to connect experimental nuclear and hadron physics with multi-messenger observations of neutron stars.
There are no registration fees for this meeting. Participants should book themselves a hotel if necessary. Two hotels are in walking distance: Hôtel d'Orsay and Residhome Bures la Guyonnerie.
A dinner on May 30th will be offered to those who registered for it. Lunches are not included
