Venue to the conference

Conference Information

The conference will take place at the beautiful city of Strasbourg, France, symbolic capital of Europe, and seat of several major European institutions. Thanks to the richness and sheer density of its heritage sites, its entire historic town centre, surrounded by two arms of the River Ill ‒ and so-called Big Island ‒ has been listed as UNESCO World Heritage since 1988.

Organised around its monumental cathedral, the historic Big Island of Strasbourg contains a remarkable monumental ensemble and exemplifies medieval cities with tight network of streets as well as reflects the evolution of Strasbourg from the 15th to the 18th centuries.

Strasbourg is the capital and principal city of the Alsace region in eastern France and is the official seat of the European Parliament. Located close to the border with Germany, it is the capital of the Bas-Rhin department.

Located in the "Esplanade" district, the Central Campus is near Strasbourg historical center. Also called "Esplanade Campus", it is the main University of Strasbourg Campus, regrouping University headquarters and many University of Strasbourg elements (including the "Tour de Chimie"), as well as the main part of the research units. Several independant high schools are present as well (Ecole Supérieure des Arts Décoratifs de Strasbourg and INSA).
