Giovanni Lamanna (GL) and Giorgio Rossi have been talking on 2 March and 18 March

Over the past few weeks, some colleagues in their capacity as members of the directorates of some ‘Analytical Physics and Hadronic Physics’ ESFRIs, ERICs, RIs and networks (LENS) have been contacting GL expressing some ideas as well as interests in learning more about the ‘ESCAPE enhance’ proposal in response to the INFRADEV-2026-01-02 call.

They agreed to discuss it further on 1 April.

Meeting on 1 April 2026 between:

      ESCAPE

       Giovanni Lamanna

       Marek Lewitowicz (NuPECC)

Analytical Physics Facilities (APF) ESFRIs, ERIC, RIs, networks

        Thomas Gutberlet - ESS

        Tania Claudio Weber - ESS

        Andrew Harrison - CERIC-ERIC

        Ornela De Giacomo - CERIC-ERIC

Michel Kenzelmann - PSI (LENS CHAIR)

        Mark Robert Johnson - ILL

        Jacques Justin - ILL

Regina Ciancio - eDREAMS (electron microscopy chapter of ARIE)

        Ed Mitchell - ESRF

GL provided a detailed overview of the WP’s structure, objectives and initial content (as set out in the slides presented during the internal meeting on 24 March).

Comments and expressions of interest were gathered.

GL invited them to think about an evolution of the content of the proposal to be more aligned with APF expectations, to confirm their willingness to participate in one project or to go with two complementary proposals and to attend the upcoming key meetings.

2nd meeting on Thursday 9 April with:

      Chiara Ferrari

      Giorgio Rossi

      Jakub Szlachetko

      Giovanni Lamanna

Agreement reached on a single proposal.

A meeting will be organised shortly with community representatives to discuss any necessary adjustments to the structure of the WPs. This should enable us to make the next in person meeting  as effective as possible.

(NB: The meeting in Rome scheduled for 23 April is still to be confirmed; it is likely to be postponed).
