During the conference, three social events are proposed to the participants:
- a welcome cocktail in the Winter garden of the Collège Doctoral Européen (the same building as the conference venue and included in the fees);
- a dinner at a local berwery - le Grand Tigre - to taste the local Flammkeuch, located Impasse des jardiniers. Connsult path info.
- an optional choice of three activities on Wednesday afternoon, see below;
- an optional conference banquet on Thursday evening 19h30 in a typical Strasbourg restaurant — La Bourse — located 1 place du Maréchal de Lattre de Tassigny. Consult path info.
For the 'excursions' on Wednesday afternoon, three options are proposed, to be chosen at registration. All sites are located in the city center and reachable by foot from the conference venue or the lunch place. One or two local organisers will guide the participants, starting just outside the lunch restaurant Le 32 at 1:50 PM. The start time is 3 PM for all three potions.
- Visit of the historical wine cellar of Strasbourg. See walking path.
- City guided tour of the Petite France district and City Center. See walking path.
- Boat tour of the Strasbourg, from historical to European districts. See walking path.
If you are a rock climber and have a hard time spending a week without hanging on proper holds, contact jerome.baudot@iphc.cnrs.fr. Though an outing in November is unlikely, Strasbourg benefits from good indoor gyms (bouldering or lead).
The conference venue is located in the center of Strasbourg, close to many touristic and cultural activities. Please consult the page of the official tourist center for further if you wish to organise your own activities.
