Getting to IPhT

The IPhT can be reached from Paris with RER B train in the direction "Saint-Rémy-lès-Chevreuse" or "Orsay". Buy a ticket to the station "Le Guichet", zone 1-5, price 4 euros (you can buy the same ticket also for the return).
Get off at Le Guichet (about 40 min) and take the bus (10 min) to the IPhT, situated on the Orme des Merisiers site of CEA. Make sure you are on a train stopping at "Le Guichet" (this information being displayed on the signs on the platform for trains going towards Saint-Rémy).

A special shuttle bus will be arranged for the workshop participants every morning from the RER B train station "Le Guichet" to the IPhT. The location of the bus is indicated on the map below. From RER B station "Le Guichet" to the shuttle bus stop on rue Louise Weiss:

Alternatively:

If you miss the shuttle bus of the conference, you can reach the "Orme des Merisiers" stop near IPhT from "Le Guichet" with the CEA shuttle bus (free), from the same bus station and getting off at the first bus stop. The bus operates with the following timetable :

CEA shuttle Monday to Friday
Morning
from RER B - Le guichet
to "Orme des Merisiers" bus stop
8:00, 8:15, 8:30, 8:45, 9:00, 9:15, 9:30, 9:45
Evening
from IPhT
to RER B - Le guichet
17:14, 17:44, 18:14, 18:44, 19:14

In addition, one can reach the "Orme des Merisiers" stop near IPhT from the "Le Guichet" with the public bus 9 (previously called 269.02):

bus 9 Monday to Friday
Morning
from RER B - Le guichet
to "Orme des Merisiers" bus stop
Every 10 min. from 8:05 to 9:35, then every 20 min.
Evening
from "Orme des Merisiers" bus stop
to RER B - Le guichet
every 10 min. from 16:18 to 18:38, less often afterwards

In order to change from the RER B train to the busses, follow the crowd exiting the train at "Le guichet", pass below the railways, and walk along a brasserie. Cross the road, then walk along a kindergarden to the bus stops. Such crowd will eventually split into those taking the public busses (including the 9) on the right and those going for the CEA shuttles (including the workshop shuttle) on the left. Note that in the morning both public and CEA busses do not reach the IPhT building but stop at the "Orme des Merisiers" stop, 8 min walk away from the IPhT.

From the CEA Shuttle and public bus stop to the IPhT:

More creative possibilities can be found on the vianavigo website, inserting as the IPhT location "Orme de Merisiers, Saint-Aubin". The Orme des Merisiers CEA site is, in fact, on the border between the Gif-sur-Yvette and Saint-Aubin municipalities. See also directions on the IPhT website.
