    Description
    "Determination of the CKM elements |Vcb| and |Vub|" Our quantitative understanding of the quark flavor sector has improved dramatically since the B factories began operation. The overconstraints placed on the parameters of the Cabibbo-Kobayashi-Maskawa matrix have allowed the CKM mechanism to be validated as the primary source of CP violation, and have placed constraints on new physics at higher mass scales. Nevertheless, there are intriguing deviations that may suggest new physics, and that require further refinement of the key measurements. Two of the key measurements in this context are the magnitudes of the CKM elements |Vcb| and |Vub|. This talk will focus on the experimental and theoretical methods behind the determinations of these quantities and summarize the current state of precision quark flavor physics.
