Description
SPARC (Sensor Pixel Asynchronous Readout CMOS) is a monolithic active pixel sensor prototype developed to investigate asynchronous readout architectures for high-rate detection systems. The proposed design relies on locally interconnected fixed-priority N:1 arbiters enabling fully column-parallel readout without global control signals, targeting low power consumption and timing performance in the 10 ns range. This contribution mainly focuses on the architecture and operating principles of the asynchronous readout scheme. Preliminary measurements from the fabricated prototype are presented and compared with simulations, providing an initial validation of the concept and perspectives for future large-scale implementations.
