This conference is part of a series alternating between Tours and Paris,
of which two events have already taken place: the first edition was
organized at the Denis Poisson Institute (Tours, 2023)
https://indico.in2p3.fr/event/29640 and the second edition at the Henri
Poincaré Institute (Paris, 2025)
https://philippelefloch.org/2025/05/22/lichnerowicz-conference-ihp-11-13-june-2025.
Historically, this series aims to revive the tradition of relativistic colloquia initiated by the renowned mathematical physicist André Lichnerowicz. These meetings played a central role in the French-speaking gravitational community (both in physics and mathematics), not only in France but also in Belgium, for several decades.
This role was renewed at the meeting held in Tours in 2023, which was a great success.
The aim of the workshop in June 2026 is to bring together the international experts in classical and quantum gravity. More precisely, the following themes will be in the focus:
- Black holes
- Modified gravity
- Conformal methods in General Relativity
- Gravitational symmetries
