School Logistics

Meeting Point & Time

We will meet at LAPP, Chemin de Bellevue, 74940 Annecy-le-Vieux, France.
We invite you to arrive early and join us from 12:00 for a welcome buffet. Registration will also be available from 12:00 at the LAPP entrance.

The School Introduction (welcome address, school overview, and local organization) will start at 14:00 in the LAPP auditorium.

To reach LAPP from Annecy train station, you can take:

  • Bus line 4 (direction Campus), or

  • Bus line 1 (direction Parc des Glaisins),

and get off at the CAMPUS stop.

Jean XXIII Instructions

Participants will be staying at Centre Jean XXIII? 10 Chemin du Bray, 74940 Annecy , close to LAPP and reachable by bus line 4 (direction Campus) or bus line 1 (direction Parc des Glaisins)

Check-in at the centre is possible from 16:00 to 20:00. Luggage can be dropped off or picked up during this time.

Late Arrivals (after 20:00) 

Late arrivals are not an issue. If you arrive after 20:00, please inform the organizers in advance. On the day of arrival, the residence will send you an SMS with all the necessary instructions to access the center, including the code for the key box. 

 

Activities

CERN Visit – Saturday, January 17, 2026

  • Meeting time : 8:50 AM at the LAPP parking lot. Please arrive no later than 9:00 AM for a 9:00 AM departure.

  • Transportation: Coach with 49 seats.

  • Lunch: We will bring picnics (snacks) from LAPP before departure.

  • Return: Departure from CERN at 1:00 PM, arriving in Annecy around 2:00 PM.

  • To avoid any issues, please bring your passports/IDs as we will be crossing from one country to another.

 

Dinner – Friday, January 16, 2026

  • Meeting time and place: 9:00 PM at Le Freti, 12 Rue Sainte-Claire, 74000 Annecy. Here is the itinerary: Google Maps

  • Enjoy traditional Savoyard cheeses, including raclette and fondue.

  • A bit of history: Le Freti started in 1973 with the opening of a creamery by Michel Collomb, the founder of the “Descente des Alpages,” in the heart of Annecy’s historic district.
