How to get to LPNHE?

🚇 The RATP network

Paris has a dense network of public transports, in particular metro and bus lines. The network is managed by a company called RATP (Régie Autonome des Transports Parisiens), and all useful information about travelling across the city can be found on their website.

Tickets and travel pass information can be found on this page.

Various network and line maps can be found following this direct link and are shown on this page for convenience.

🔬 Getting to the meeting rooms

Once you have arrived at Jussieu, the campus entrance is on the square. Just open your bag at the security checkpoint for inspection, and you can enter.

In an accommodating manner for us physicists, the campus is arranged as a matrix of numbered towers, connected by straight buildings. The LPNHE main entrance is at tower 22, at the very opposite of the campus entrance. You just have to follow the pink arrow path on the plan below to get there.

Almost the whole week will take place in the Charpak Auditorium, locally called Amphi Charpak (framed in pink on the plan below). To reach it, you just have to take the tower 22 lift down to the RC Level and get out by the door on the left.

Due to availability constraints of the Charpak Auditorium, on Wednesday 27 September the sessions will all take place in Room C404 (Building C, 4th Floor), framed in orange on the plan below. To reach it, you have to:

  1. follow the orange arrow path until you get to a steel staircase at the end of Building B,
  2. go to the 2nd Floor and cross the corridor until you reach Building C,
  3. take the stairs or the lift to the 4th Floor.
