All talks will take place in the Amphithéâtre Bloch, which is located at the entrance of Institut de Physique Théorique (IPhT), building 774 at Orme des Merisiers, CEA Saclay (see map here). Here are directions to by public transport IPhT.
From Paris, or the Airports:
Take the RER B train southbound (direction "Saint-Rémy-lès-Chevreuse" or "Orsay") and get off at “Le Guichet”.
If you fly into Charles de Gaulle airport (CDG), located north of Paris, you can take the RER B directly from airport terminal 2. Transit time to IPhT is about 1.5-2 hours, as you have to go through Paris. If you fly into Paris Orly airport (ORY), located south of Paris between the city and Saclay, from the terminals you can take a quick shuttle train ("Orlyval") to the RER B.
If you fly into Paris Orly, there is also a direct public bus connection between each Orly terminal and the CEA site “Orme des Merisiers”, where IPhT is located. The bus is the line number 91.10. Get off at the stop “Orme des Merisiers”. Transit time is about 1hr.
From Le Guichet / Hotel d'Orsay:
We have arranged a special conference bus leaving every morning at 9h30 from (near) the RER B stop "Le Guichet" to the conference venue, and every evening after the last talk, in the opposite direction.
(Please note that the number of available seats is limited, they will be assigned on a first come, first served basis.)
At Le Guichet RER B stop, you have to cross the railway via the tunnel. The route from the exit of the station to the exact departure location of the bus is shown here, while the one from the Hotel d'Orsay can be found here. The bus company is "Savac" (red buses), and it will have a sign next to the driver mentioning the conference.
Once in Le Guichet, you can also reach the conference venue by the public bus number 9, which runs frequently until 10h, and after that it runs roughly every 15 minutes. Get off at the stop “Orme des Merisiers”. There is a gate for pedestrian access right in front of the bus stop, but if you don't know the way, you should rather use the main entrance, which you don't see from the bus stop: It is located 150m ahead. Once you enter the site, go straight at the fork, not right (this is the entrance to the Soleil synchrotron). IPhT is building 774 at the end of the road on the right side (approx. 10 minute walk from the bus stop, see map here).
Leaving the conference:
To go back to Le Guichet / Hotel d'Orsay you can take our special bus, leaving daily after the last talk. Alternatively you can reach Le Guichet by public bus #9 (from the stop “Orme des Merisiers” next to the entrance of CEA) then you can get to Paris or to the airports by RER B.
