School Venue and Access

School Venue

The School will take place on the Nice - Valrose Campus (see Campus map).
The sessions will be held on Campus in an amphitheater of the computing department. Building number 5 (blue color) on the map labelled "amphitheatre informatique". The room is equipped with electrical outlets and wifi provided through eduroam system. Please install eduroam on your laptop before coming.

Access

Coming by car from Marseilles

  • A8 Exit 55 Nice Nord and follow direction here
  • A8. Exit 50 Promenade des Anglais , offers the nicest view. Take a GPS
  • No direct access on campus by car (need a badge or an invitation)

Note that the center of Nice has many traffic restrictions and  there is a charge for parking every where. 

Free parking:
Parking places are usually full near the Valrose Campus, Finding a parking place nearby may happen sometimes

Coming from the airport, terminal 1 or 2:

  • Tram L2 (direction Port Lympia) up to "Jean Medecin" or "Massena" and then L1 (direction Comte de Fallicon) up to "Valrose Universite" (~50 minute). Then 5 minute walk.

The timetable for tram line 2 indicates that the last departure from Terminal  2 is just after midnight. A ticket costs € 1.50. It can be used on a bus & tram line within 74 minutes of the first validation. Purchase of tickets from distributors installed on the platforms or sales counters at the airport: Terminal 1 (bus station Porte A0) & Terminal 2 (between Gate A2 / A3).

Coming by bus, from the main train station (Gare Thiers)

On leaving the station, take the avenue on your left and walk a few dozen meters to the tram Line 1 station. Tram 1: from station Gare Thiers, stop Valrose. The campus is located at the street end ont the right side of the tram line, a few hunderds meters away

Coming by public transport

  • Tram 1: stop "Valrose Universite"
  • Bus 37: stop "Valrose"
  • Bus 11: stop "Val fleuri"
  • Bus 16: stop "Doyen Lepine"

Coming by bikes


From many places you can rent a  vélo bleu (blue bike), a self-service bike rental system. Here is the registration site  https://www.velobleu.org/en/nos-tarifs-velobleu/#inscrive

Registration costs 1,5 €. The 30 first mn ride with the same bike is  free. From the airport it take about 30 min by bike to Port Lympia, mostly on secure cycle paths.
