Hackathon

The hackathon will be held the day before the meeting, on 24 April, in the seminar room on FAIS campus (Jagiellonian University).
The main idea is to encourage everyone to either discover Gate or start contributing to the code. The principle is very simple : at the beginning of the day, after a short introduction, everyone will choose her/his own "project-of-the-day". This announcement is important to let everyone know what you will do and potentially group people with similar or close projects. Then, all day long everyone is working on it with the help of developers. At the end of the day, everyone provides a short feedback (3-5 min max). Examples of "project" are :
  • to learn/discover the new python-based Gate 10.beta
  • to create a specific simulation (SPECT, dosimetry, etc)
  • to add a new actor in Gate
  • to contribute to the documentation
  • to implement a new feature
  • to propose an alternative restructuration of the code
This is a very open proposal, the main idea is to discuss and learn something together.
The only requirement to attend the hackathon is to bring your own laptop.
