Neutrino Oscillation Studies with KM3NeT/ORCA

Europe/Paris
Description

KM3NeT is a neutrino telescope under construction in the Mediterranean Sea. Currently taking data with 32 lines distributed between French and Italian sites, the experiment is ramping up to build hundreds more over the next few years. When completed, KM3NeT will comprise a dense 7 Mton neutrino detector (ORCA) for studying atmospheric neutrinos in the GeV range, and a sparser 1 Gton detector (ARCA) to search for astrophysical neutrinos at TeV and higher energies. In this seminar I will introduce the physics of atmospheric neutrino oscillations and present the latest results from KM3NeT/ORCA, including the first measurements of oscillation parameters with 1 year of data with 6 lines, and the prospects for measuring the Neutrino Mass Ordering in this decade.
