Due to the special role of the top quark in many beyond-the-standard models, the study of the different top-quark production modes is an important area of research to find evidence for new physics at the LHC. The large amount of data collected by the ATLAS and CMS detectors during the run 2 data-taking period has enable the measurements of rare top-quark production modes that were previously inaccessible. In this seminar, I will present a few of these recent results from both the ATLAS and CMS collaboration. After a short introduction on the physics at high energy, I will start by presenting the last searches for the production of the Higgs boson in association with top quarks and the resulting measurements on the top yukawa coupling. Then, I will show the recent measurement of the four-top-quarks production cross section that lead to the first evidence for this process. Finally, I will discuss about the tension observed between data and the current prediction on the production of top quarks in association with a W boson. I will particularly focus on the on-going experimental and theoretical developments that are trying to understand and solve this tension.
