Description

The workshop "Higgs and Dark Matter Connections" is part of a collaborative French-Korean project financed by a PHC project STAR. The aim of this workshop is to discuss new directions in studying the interplay between the Higgs boson and Dark Matter models, including composite models, Dark Photons, etc.

This first workshop will be followed by a second in 2020, organised in Korea. Participation is open upon registration.

The venue will be the Salle du Conseil, at the IP2I. The building is accessible by the tram T1/T4 stop "Université Lyon 1" (see directions below).

How to reach Lyon: if you fly in the Lyon Exupery airport, you can easily reach Lyon by taking the express tram Rhonexpress to the central Lyon Part-Dieu train station.

How to reach the IP2I : take the tram T1 direction IUT Feyssine or T4 direction La Doua Gaston Berger and get off at the stop Universite Lyon 1. From there you can walk to the IP2I: follow the tram track and turn on the first road on the left. The IP2I is down the road (click on the link below to see a map). Address: 4 rue Fermi, Villeurbanne

Spin-3/2 Dark Matter in simple s or t channel models 45m

We consider possible spin-3/2 dark matter (DM) particles which can either interact with the Standard Model (SM) fermions through a vector mediator in the s-channel, or with SM quarks through the exchange of a charged and coloured scalar or vector mediator in a simple t-channel model. Constraints on the parameter spaces of these models are investigated, drawing from the observed relic densities, direct detection from DM-nucleon elastic scattering cross sections, and monojet searches at the Large Hadron Collider.

Neutrino self-interaction in the signals from blazar TXS 0506+056 30m

Even though conventional leptonic or lepto-hadronic models of blazar successfully explain the observed electromagnetic component of the flaring signal from the Blazar TXS 0506+056 in a large range of energy window $E_\gamma \in (10^{-1}{\rm eV}, 10^2~{\rm GeV})$, the predicted neutrino flux is too small to be consistent with the IceCube observation at $E_\nu \simeq 300~{\rm TeV}$. We show that a sizable self-interaction of neutrinos with a light messenger resolves the discrepancy. Interestingly, the same physics can relieve the cosmological tension in $H_0$ and $\sigma_8$.

        Higgs as inflaton 45m

I will discuss the recent update about the Higgs inflation where the Higgs field is regarded as the inflaton field. The unitarity issue, (p)re-heating issue and the potential production of primordial black hole will be discussed.

Annihilation Signatures of Neutron Dark Decay 30m

We point out that two models that reconcile the neutron lifetime anomaly via dark decays of the neutron, also predict dark matter-neutron ($\bar{\chi}-n$) annihilation that may be observable in neutron-antineutron oscillation and proton decay searches at Super-Kamiokande, Hyper-Kamiokande and DUNE. We study signatures of $\bar{\chi}n\to \gamma\pi^0$~(or multi-$\pi^0$) and $\bar{\chi}n\to \phi\gamma\pi^0$~(or $\phi+$multi-$\pi^0$), where $\phi$ is an almost massless boson in one of the two models.
