Description
The goal of this workshop, organised by the Paris Center of Cosmological Physics, the Laboratoire Astroparticule et Cosmologie and the GdR “ondes gravitationnelles”, is to explore the implications of past and future gravitational waves observations on modified gravity theories.
During the session of the morning review talks about theory and past and future gravitational-wave observations will be given.
During the session of the afternoon we will discuss a number of questions, to be asked by the participants in advance. The discussion will be animated by a few conveners.
Organisers:
S. Babak, M. Barsuglia, E. Chassande-Mottin, D.Langlois, E. Porter, D. Steer, M. Verleure, F. Vernizzi
Topics:
- Stochastic background from BH binaries (what can we learn from it on cosmology)
- Polarizations of GW Waveform predictions in alternative gravity theories
- Propagation of GW (speed, modification in the dispersion relation, damping, decay of GW)
- Quasi-normal modes of a BH in alternative gravity theories
