Description

Neutrinos suppress structure growth at galactic scales due to free-streaming, which can be probed by the CMB and, independently, Lyman-alpha forests of distant quasars. Using the 9th Data Release of SDSS and state-of-the-art hydrodynamics simulations, we establish the most stringent constraints on the mass of neutrinos M_nu < 0.12 eV (95% CL) using Lya forests, the CMB and the BAO scale. I will describe our data set made up of ~14,000 quasa

rs and recap how neutrinos, either active or sterile, affect the matter power spectrum. I will also detail our simulations. Finally, I will present our constraints on neutrino masses. Our simulations can also incorporate warm dark matter (WDM) particles. I will therefore feature our constraints on the warmth of dark matter and the mass of sterile neutrinos as a candidate for WDM.
