Description
AMS-02 is a magnetic spectrometer operating on the International Space Station since May 2011. More than 45 billion events have been collected by the instrument in the first 1000 days of data taking and this wealth of data is being analyzed to perform accurate measurements of the energy spectra and abundances of the different Cosmic Rays components. We will discuss the AMS-02 detector, the main challenges to guarantee its steady operation in space and the highlights from its data analysis.
