Description
After a brief introduction about the impact of the searches for SUSY at the 7 and 8 TeV runs of the LHC, I will motivate possible SUSY scenarios that are compatible with the current searches and are still allowed to have (a subset) of the superpartners below the TeV scale. Out of these scenarios I will discuss in detail the possibility that R-parity is not a symmetry of SUSY models. I will also recall the consequences of a breaking of R-parity and experimental limits on this hypothesis. In the second part of the talk I will present a possible connection between flavor dynamics and RPV. In particular I will describe how the breaking a flavor symmetry of the SM in a way that respects the Minimal Flavor Violation (MFV) ansatz (or resembles that) gives rise to a relation between flavor violation and the flavor structure of the RPV couplings. The observable consequences of this relation will be discussed in detail.
