Workshop Venue and Tourist Information

The conference is being organized in Santos (State of São Paulo), in  Mercure Santos Hotel.

Santos, São Vicente and Guarujá are located very close together, as seen in the following  viewabout 68 Kms from the city of São Paulo. From the Guarulhos International Airport, the workhop venue is about 99 kms, which will take near 90 mins (in normal conditions), by car.  Very good high-ways connect Santos to the Guarulhos international airport, which has direct connecting flights with almost all major cities of the world.

To reach the city of Santos from the São Paulo International Airport there are direct intercity buses (Viação Cometa), departing from the airport. In average one per hour, the first bus departs at 5:50 and  the last one at 22:00. The bus ticket can be bought at the airport.

Santos, São Vicente and Guarujá have excellent infra-structure of hotels, convention centers, shoppings and restaurants. The cities have many interesting attractions for the visitors to enjoy, and are close to beautiful beaches with very good infra-structure. These cities have long been preferred for summer vacations for people living in São Paulo.

Santos is a historical city founded in 1545 by Bras Cubas, who arrived in one of the first Portuguese expeditions to south of Brazil. More recently, in the beginning of the last century, it was in the port of Santos that most of the immigrants arrived from Europe and Asia (mostly Japan). Descendents of these immigrants are now an integrant part of the actual Brazilian multicultural society: a society that presents mixing of all kind of cultures and races, in a very rich spectrum.
