Description

In this talk, after a very brief description of inflation and its predictions for the properties Cosmic Microwave Background radiation, I will discuss the results by the BICEP2 collaboration, that recently claimed detection of the so-called primordial B modes in the CMB. In particular, my talk will focus on the implications that such a detection would have for inflationary model building and for particle physics.
