Description
In this talk I shall present a non-perturbative formulation of scattering amplitudes or equivalently null polygonal Wilson loops in planar N=4 Super-Yang-Mills theory. The construction is based on the OPE approach proposed by Alday, Gaiotto, Maldacena, Sever, and Vieira, and it introduces a new decomposition of the Wilson loop in terms of fundamental building blocks named Pentagon transitions. These transitions satisfy a simple relation to the world-sheet S-matrix on top of the Gubser-Klebanov-Polyakov string which allows one to boostrap them at any value of the 't Hooft coupling constant using integrability. In this talk I shall explain how this picture works in the important subsector of the so-called gluonic excitations and confront its predictions with the available data at both weak and strong coupling.
