Solar neutrinos play a crucial role on both fundamental and Solar physics. Low energy solar neutrinos are a unique probe to the Sun interior and may contribute to solve the discrepancies between the Standard Solar Model and the recent measurements related to the Sun metallicity. At the same time, many potentially interesting effects can be discovered in the field of neutrino oscillation via a careful study of the Solar neutrino spectra. In this seminar, I will discuss the unique features of the Borexino experiment, its recent results and the future perspectives.
