Workshop on Photon Physics and Simulation at Hadron Colliders

Programme Scientifique

The goal of the workshop is to discuss the following items:

• properties/characteristics of available NLO prompt photon generators (JetPhoX, DiPhoX, Sherpa, ResBos, PowHeg, Grappa, 2gNNLO)
• treatment of fragmentation and of isolation in LO and NLO generators
• isolation prescriptions alternative to the fixed cone one (Frixione...)
• experimental isolation prescription and link to theory: track vs calorimeter isolation, UE/pile-up corrections, how to link parton-level to particle-level to experimental isolation

Presentations from authors of LO and NLO generators and from experimental particle physicists with experience in photon production at TeVatron and LHC are foreseen. A significant fraction of the time of the workshop will be devoted to discussion. Participation from interested physicists, either theorists or experimentalists, is welcome!
