Description
One of the ways to find experimental evidence of Super Symmetry (SUSY) is to look into processes which are suppressed in the Standard Model (SM). The rare decay \ $b \to s l^+ l^-$ \ is a Flavour Changing Neutral Current (FCNC) process which is highly suppressed in the SM and therefore interesting when it comes to SUSY effects at electroweak scale. But for these SUSY effects to emerge we need to decrease the theoretical uncertainties in the SM calculations below supersymmetric effects. To calculate such FCNC processes in the SM we use an effective theory which has the advantage of separating physics contributions from short- and long-distances. This formulation has the advantage of being very suitable for the inclusion of all sorts of new physics effects. The calculation of FCNC processes by means of this effective theory will be discussed in this seminar.
