Description

The Double Chooz neutrino experiement is taking data at the French nuclear plant of Chooz, and will be very soon improving the world best limit on the teta 13 neutirno mixing angle, which is the last non measured measured oscillation angle. This expeirment is the first of a new neutrino generation of experiment, and the only one currently taking data. These are Reno in Korea, Daya Bay in China, and T2K in Japan. Double Chooz is a large international experiment, gathering 150 physicists from 35 universities and laboratories in 8 countries (Japan, USA, Russia, Brazil, England, Germany, Spain, France). Its first detector is running, and a second laboratory is under construction, to have 2 detectors running in the same time end of next year.
