Description

The ARTificial Intelligence For Accelerators, user Communities and associated Technologies (ARTIFACT) network—a collaborative, open-science network connecting research infrastructures, institutes, and universities— addresses these challenges by coordinating a concerted strategy for AI in accelerator science. Beyond accelerator physics, ARTIFACT establishes bridges with adjacent disciplines, including medical applications and core AI research on interpretability and trustworthiness. This contribution presents the network’s vision, reference architecture, and strategic pillars organized around data and models, sustainability, current and future infrastructure operation, and training. It also outlines a roadmap for 2026–2031 that addresses key scientific, technical, and organizational challenges for sustainable AI adoption in Particle Accelerators research and technological infrastructures.
