Preparing for a decade of Rubin operations

In 2021, the Vera C. Rubin Observatory selected 7 broker teams to receive the raw real-time alerts stream. The public distribution of the alerts started early 2026 and it is expected to continue for at least another 10 years.

It is then a crucial moment to discuss the technical challenges posed by this large and complex data set.

The Rubin Broker Summit aims to bring together technical representatives of all broker teams, as well as experts from crucial infrastructures which form the basis of the transient astronomy science.

The meeting will be hosted at Institut Pascal,  Orsay-France, from 15-19 June 2026.

The program will include plenty of time for discussions, brain-storming and technical planning related to standards in modern astronomy, project/broker liaison, data storage and enrichment, tutorials, documentation, follow-up and reporting mechanisms, … related to the processing of Rubin alert data.

There is no registration fee.

Participation is restricted to researchers and engineers directly connected with broker development and invited participants.

Registrations are open until 5th April 2026.
