Description

Realistic transient simulations are essential to interpret the observations of surveys such as LSST.
I will present skysurvey, a Python library developed in the cosmological team in Lyon, that simulates astrophysical transients, and in particular Type Ia supernovae, for any survey, including LSST. skysurvey aims to combine computational efficiency, ease of use, and physical realism and complexity in transient simulations.
I will present the main features of skysurvey, its application to LSST-like simulations, and discuss the ongoing developments and perspectives of this project.
