Description
In the last decades a significant effort has been devoted to the theoretical study of the properties of the Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model and to the experimental search for the supersymmetric particles either directly in high-energy collisions or indirectly through high-precision measurements. In this talk the interplay between high-precision measurements and theoretical predictions is reviewed. Special emphasis is put on the precise determination of the lightest Higgs boson mass as a sensitive probe of the mechanism of the electroweak symmetry breaking and of the supersymmetric effects. A second issue addressed here is the reconstruction of the fundamental parameters from the experimental data (to be) measured in collider experiments and their extrapolation to the high-energy scale of the Grand Unification in order to get insights into the mechanism of supersymmetry breaking.
