Description

A resonant phenomena, axion magnetic resonance (AMR), induced by the spatially or temporally varying magnetic fields is presented. In general, axion experiments utilizing axion-photon coupling become less effective in the high-axion mass regime due to the conversion probability being suppressed by the axion mass. We propose using the varying magnetic fields to enhance the sensitivity of axion experiments in the high axion-mass regime and provide a simple formula to describe the system. We apply this resonance to on-going and projected axion experiments, such as the light-shining-through-a-wall experiment and axion helioscopes, e.g., ALPS II, CAST, BabyIAXO, IAXO, and IAXO+.
