TRIeste: Topological Recursion and Integrability
11-16 September 2023
This school on Topological Recursion and Integrability is organized with the goal of introducing students and post-docs to the main tool and open questions in the area.
The main content of the summer school is provided by four series of lectures by the four invited speakers who are experts in these fields of research. Each series consists of 2 lectures (2 hours each) accompanied by 1 exercise sessions (2 hours).
- Introduction to integrable hierarchies: Lax representation and bi-Hamiltonian systems
Guido Carlet, U Bourgogne - Fock space formalism and applications
Séverin Charbonnier, U Geneve - Introduction to Riemann–Hilbert problems
Giordano Cotti, U Lisboa - Introduction to topological recursion
Bertrand Eynard, IPhT
The school will also feature research talks on various aspects of topological recursion and integrability.
- Pavlo Gavrylenko, SISSA
Isomonodromic deformations on a torus, Fredholm determinants, and their modular properties - Volumes of moduli spaces of super hyperbolic surfaces
Paul Norbury, U Melbourne - Recursion relations for gauge theories with defects
Alessandro Tanzini, SISSA - Integrable features of sine and Airy kernels at finite temperature
Sofia Tarricone, IPhT
Registration and funds
The registration to the event is free but mandatory (deadline: May 30), follow the link in the menu. Limited funds are available for PhD students or young researchers to help covering local expenses.
Local accommodation
Participants are responsible for arranging their own accommodation. We can recommend for instance Hotel alla Posta, just in front of Piazza Oberdan. More generally, any accommodation in that area is close to the historical city center, the bus lines 17 and 17/ to the University, line 6 to ICTP, line 38 to SISSA.
