Description
We describe the application of modern amplitude techniques to the analytic evaluation of classical gravitational observables. These methods from quantum scattering amplitudes have led to a new point-of-view on the computation of the coalescence of compact binaries in the classical post-Minkowskian expansion. This framework has led to a new way of thinking the  relation between the classical gravitational interactions and the quantum scattering amplitudes.

In this talk, I will describe a new way efficient way of deriving the post-Minkowskian contributions to the two-body scattering, and will present some of the outstanding puzzle in understanding the gravitational radiation.
