Description
The discovery in 1998 of the accelerating expansion of the universe has led to numerous proposals to investigate this new phenomenon. The Dark Energy Task Force, established by NASA, DOE, and NSF, reported on the potential for different techniques, particularly supernovae, baryon acoustic oscillations, and weak lensing, to investigate dark energy. The methodology adopted by the DETF has shaped the discussion in the U.S. I will review the large, long term projects now under consideration and their differing approaches to cosmological measurement. I will also discuss some of the smaller projects, due to begin within the next few years.
