Recent developments in tau lepton physics mostly coming from BaBar and Belle are discussed. They include tests of lepton universality using precise mass determination and measurement of various branching fractions, studies of hadronic decays, searches for second class currents. Also described are results of a search for lepton-flavor-violating decays.
