Description
Research Center for Nuclear Physics, Osaka University abbreviated by RCNP is a user facility for nuclear physics located in Osaka Japan. It has an AVF cyclotron and a ring cyclotron which accelerates protons up to 80 MeV and 400 MeV, respectively and other heavy ions. Equipped by high resolution spectrometers, a beam line for unstable nuclei and other instruments for precision measurements, RCNP accommodates wide range of nuclear physics experiments. It has LEPS facility at SPring-8 which provides up to 3 GeV photons for hadron physics. It has Oto-Cosmo observatory for the study of underground science. It accelerates new projects (LEPS2, MUSIC and CANDLES) in a new program of Research Center for Subatomic Science.
