Name: Thomas Vuillaume (ESCAPE School Chair)

Bio: Thomas Vuillaume is an astrophysicist and data scientist working at CNRS-LAPP. He obtained his PhD in theoretical astrophysics developing numerical jet models and applying them to observational data before to turn to data analysis. He is an active member of the H.E.S.S. and CTA collaborations, working on the development of data analysis techniques and software for Imaging Atmospheric Cherenkov Telescopes. His expertise includes Python development, data science and machine learning.

Name: Giovanni Lamanna (ESCAPE Project Coordinator)

Bio: Giovanni Lamanna is the ESCAPE Project Coordinator, the Director of LAPP, and Director of Research at CNRS. He is member of the H.E.S.S. and CTA international collaborations. He has been involved since the beginning in the conception and preparation of the CTA ESFRI facility. He has been member of the CTA project committee and has served (2009-2016) as the coordinator of the Data Management for the CTA international consortium. He has been committed in the design and construction of the Large Size Telescopes of CTA within the FP7 CTA Preparatory Phase project,  deployed at La Palma island, and the coordinator of the OBELICS work package of the H2020 ASTERICS project.

Name: Julie Chaudan (ESCAPE Executive Manager)

Bio:  Julie CHAUDAN has recently (April 2021) taken the role of ESCAPE Project Manager. Engineer in materials science since 2009, and always keen on discovering new things, she has been working in different sectors and in different places developing her project management skills in R&D.

Name: Mathilde Hubert

Bio: Mathilde is the ESCAPE Communication Officer. This position involves project conception and management, writing and science communication counselling. Working for different research institutions over the past ten years, gave her an in-depth knowledge of the higher education and research systems as well as a keen interest in science diplomacy.

Name: Enrique Garcia

Bio: Enrique is a Data Scientist working at LAPP/CNRS for the European ESCAPE project and for the CTA and LST consortiums. He is currently implementing the Open-source Scientific Software and Service Repository (OSSR) for ESCAPE, and gives technical support in the development of the different data analysis chains that the LAPP group develops for the CTA collaboration.

Name: Frédéric Gillardo

Bio: Frederic is a software engineer working on storage solution for CTA at the LAPP. Frederic develops software using Python and JAVA. He has developed JAVA storage application for the pharmaceutical industry for more than 10 years. His expertise also include IT security development based on authentication using certificate.

Name: Vincent Poireau

Vincent Poireau is a staff scientist at CNRS-LAPP working in the HESS and CTA experiments. His research is focused on search for the elusive dark matter that constitutes the majority of the matter content of the Universe. He worked in different international experimental collaborations in particle physics, such as DELPHI (CERN), CMS (CERN), BaBar (SLAC Stanford, US) and astroparticle physics AMS (on the international space station), HESS, and CTA. He is now scientific deputy director for astroparticle and cosmology at IN2P3/CNRS.

Name: Jutta Schnabel

Jutta is a physicist working on open science for the KM3NeT collaboration at ECAP. She has been active in setting up open data services for the KM3NeT detectors and works as project scientist for the Open-source Scientific Software and Service Repository (OSSR) workpackage in ESCAPE.

Name: Arturo Sánchez Pineda

Bio: Arturo is a Venezuelan post-doctoral fellow at LAPP-CNRS, France. He studied Fundamental Physics and System Engineering in the Universidad de Los Andes, Venezuela, with a PhD in Fundamental and Applied Physics from Università di Napoli "Federico II", Italy. He was previously a post-doctoral fellow at Physics Department at Università di Udine and an Associate at INFN, Italy. Also, an ATLAS TDAQ System Administrator at CERN, Switzerland, and Research Associate at the High Energy, Cosmology and Astroparticle Section at ICTP, Italy.
