The observed neutrino mass and mixing pattern suggests that the neutrino mass generation mechanism may
differ from that of quarks and charged leptons. In any case, the SM must be extended in order to account for the
results obtained by neutrino oscillation experiments which require neutrinos to be massive. In this seminar we will
go through several scalar extensions of the SM (1SSM, 2SSM, 2HDM…) and discuss (reflect about) some
aspects related with neutrino masses, lepton mixing, CP violation, and other phenomenological consequences.
