Perspectives for a Future e+e- Circular Collider: FCC-ee

par Patrick Janot (CERN)

Europe/Paris
Description

In 2012, the European Strategy put forward the strong physics case of a future e+e- collider able to study the Higgs boson and other particles with unprecedented precision, and whose energy can be upgraded. As a consequence, five projects are now studied worldwide in this fascinating perspective. From all point of views, the FCC-ee complies best with the European Strategy recommandations. The seminar will briefly discuss the FCC design study, the FCC-ee accelerator design, interaction region, and detector options, before presenting the FCC-ee discovery potential, and concluding with a strategic vision for the future in preparation for the next update of the European Strategy, in May 2019.
