Description
This talk will be an introduction to xrootd and its expected usage by the LHC experiments. Fabrizio Furano will explain how xrootd is used at CERN in conjonction with CASTOR. This presentation will also to provide information to the tier-2 and tier-3 sites administrators about this product and the impact of introducing xrootd-based storage elements for the LHC experiments to the existing infrastructure (based mainly on DPM at tier-2s and tier-3s).
