Bridging the gap between particle physics an inflaton

I will present a couple of recent attempts to connect the physics of inflation with known (as well as speculative) particle physics. When inflation ends, the Universe must reheat, producing its particle content. This implies that some coupling must exist between the inflation and the SM (or other species connected to the SM). One may then wonder whether such couplings could have an impact on the dynamics of inflation, possibly offering a guidance towards constructiong models of inflation consistent with particle physics.
